Many problems in fish farming are caught early by simple observation.
- Look at the fish at feeding time: are they active and eating well?
- Check the water colour and smell, and keep a simple daily record.
- Feed according to the guidance for your species and adjust to what the fish actually eat.
- Keep equipment clean and working, especially aeration and filters.
