A leaking dam is lost water. Here is how a liner brings it back

2026-06-05 · Water Storage

Seepage through soil can quietly drain a dam. A liner is one way to hold on to the water you worked so hard to collect.

After the rains, a full dam feels like a promise kept. Then, month by month, the level drops faster than the sun alone can explain. For many farmers, that is water seeping away through porous or cracked soil.

What a liner does

A liner is a flexible waterproof sheet placed over the prepared basin so that water stays in the dam instead of soaking into the ground. It does not create water, but it can help you hold on to what you have collected.

Virgin or recycled material?

AQUAEE offers a reinforced PVC earth-dam liner in virgin material and a version made with recycled material. They are positioned differently on price and on expected performance. Ask for the technical datasheet and warranty terms for the one you are considering, so you can compare properly. Specifications on this website are placeholders until AQUAEE confirms them.

Preparation decides the result

Even the best liner depends on its bed. Remove roots and sharp stones, shape and compact the basin, and plan how the liner will be anchored at the top.

Fish and livestock

If the dam will hold fish or water for animals, tell us. Application matters when choosing a product, and we would rather give honest advice than a quick sale.
